This is just a short term problem as you will almost always go for the no mana required talent. Keeper of the Light, If by god's grace the enemy actually picked a support against you this would be it. Pretty straight forward again, their main point is to drain mana.
In this case KotL also has Blinding Light that ain't good for any right clicker but you can always buy bkb or mkb against it.Item Outline:Start off the usual 2k melee carry way with a set of tangoes, a quelling blade, and a stout shield. You still have enough gold for either a mango, a salve, or buy the cour if your team doesn't get it. Yes buy the damn cour if nobody gets it. It's just stupid to cheap out on 50gold for a good value.The meme build: UKM-WK, My personal shit show for WK. Now before we start here let me clarify this is a viable meme build and you will get flamed by your teammates by the first time they see your items.
Okay lets begin, As the game progresses get boots then a morbid mask. Now you see why you'll get flamed Maybe I should explain this build before you stop reading, this build is: UKM-WK a.k.a. Ultimate Killing Machine Wraith King. Your goal with this particular build is DPS as much of it as possible with little regard for anything else.
So now that's out of the way continue and make that morbid mask into a mask of madness, Now with your stun and a little help from your skeletons at 1015mins you're a killing machine in any 1v1 situation. High attack speed, High movement speed, coupled with the perfectly timed stun that will go off cooldown the moment madness ware's off. You just bought yourself free extra hits/proc chances of that crit for easy kills on your lane. They can try to run but you have your stun and the MS bonus from madness active so they can pretty much nut themselves. Now lets finish your boots of travel, yes questionable and yet again you will get flamed. Reason for this is purely for the mobility, since WK has an innate pushing tool(the skeletons) you can fight/farm somewhere else while the skeletons just push a random lane. Now that you've dominated your very early game get SNY, yet again questionable and you will get flamed.
Reasoning behind this is the MS/AS as well as the maim slow is just amazing for you, they already couldn't run and if they could now they shouldn't be able to. Next up is a choice between MKB and Bloodthorn. I know, I know 'But WK already has a crit'. Look at it from a different perspective, 9/10 I will get bloodthron over MKB.
It gives attack damage, attack speed, mana regen(not that you really need it) and the active with true strike. Boy this active is godly with your skeletons on top of that you'll crit way more often = more dps. When going for this I'd advice going for the orchid first rather than the Crystalys since the silence is also a good thing to have in every situation. You're already pretty unkillable so your only real issue is disables after your stun runs out and they just run happily away so Silence their asses.
Get this before 35mins and you should be ending the game by the time you get this. If it still hasn't ended replace the Madness with either an AC or a Mjollnir, I'd also advice getting this first if you're dealing with heroes like PL or anyone who has allot of units in contrast to getting Bloodthorn first. This item gives everything that you'd want: damage,atk speed, and lightning procs=more damage. BKB is always a great pickup when needed, but let's face it you have a free aegis so why would you need to worry about dying right?I should mention Shadowblade/Silver Edge, the main reason you'd want to get these is if you want to go for more kills using it as a scouting tool/passive disable for heroes like BB. NEVER UPGRADE INTO SILVER EDGE UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO! It's bad value for bad stats.Skill Build up:You will get kind of flamed for this yet again. As the game starts hold off the point, if your partner in lane wants to steal the rune get the stun and steal it otherwise just keep it off until lvl 2.
Lvl 2 get 1 each on stun and mortal strike, lvl 3 Lifesteal; now max mortal strike first. See why you'll get flamed? Getting more crit chance and more skeletons at your disposal is just better IMO than the stun damage early on, besides you don't really have the mana early on to properly use the stun morethan twice in a fight.
Making your stun just be a utility skill instead of a damage skill is preferable hence why maxing mortal strike. Also why the mask of madness.After maxing out mortal strike go for lifesteal, yet again you WILL GET FLAMED. Same reason as above, you don't really have the mana to continually use stun anyway, I was personally glad about the buff WK's stun(lower mana cost at lower levels). Lifesteal helps your lane creeps push much easier and with the help of those skeletons the T1 should be down by around 1015mins. Remember, push hard with this build don't be a pussy this isn't that kind of build.Last up is your Q nothing really to offer there but more damage and risking your ass until you get that lvl 20 talent. Let's be real here we're talking about 1k players and often don't check themselves before casting spells. Casting your maxed out stun and gimping your ult because you got greedy is the main reason people who play in this bracket die.Lvl 10 talent, Get attack speed for obvious reasons.
The wraith blast talent is just plain bad.Lvl 15 talent, Both are good do whatever you want, I personally take the 15str talent always but there isn't really any bad reason to take the +35 skeleton damage since we're building towards using them in actual fights to begin with(bloodthorn).Lvl 20 talent, Again both good. If it's a game against mana burners then it's obvious what talent you should get, otherwise the skeleton talent is godly with this build.Lvl 25 talent, Straight forward, go for Reincarnation Casts Wraith fire Blast.
This is basically a free ravage for your team so there's no reason not to get it.Laning:Offlane/Safelane both are good. You're a really shit mid so just avoid that. I prefer going offlane just to give another core an easier lane. You won't really have any issues no matter what in the offlane.Laning is easy with WK, last hitting shouldn't be an issue. You have one of the best lvl 1 damage in the game and a not half bad animation to bat.
Thanks to that early Morbid mask will you'll be able to take hits from the ranged harass you'll encounter in lane or just straight up do the harassing yourself. Just be aggressive in lane, don't be a pussy. If things go south you always have your stun to fall back on and just run into the small camp(safelane)/jungle for a few seconds to lifesteal your way back up.After getting that sweet Mask of Madness you have 1 goal, it's to push that lane as hard as you can. If you're no where near the tower use the skeletons in lane and run into your side of the jungle. Just keep doing this until that T1 goes down.
Any response TP's from the enemy is just wasting their time, that's why the Boots of Travel was so high up in the build list. If they TP to defend their tower go to another and let lose your skeletons there.
You will always have skeletons up so always use them when the last one's run out. There's a small overlap between the duration and CD so use that when trying to push T2's. If someone tries to defend as long as they're alone go for the kill. The only rule here is as long as it's only 1 TP or 2 supports you'll be fine. With the free aegis the chances of you dying are slim to none and since this is 1k, 9/10 those supports will overlap all of their skills and be left with nothing when you reincarnate and thus their demise. Just rinse and repeat till T3's.Now T3's you'll be forced into teamfights. Your role is main DPS.
Don't go into fights first make someone else initiate a fight then go straight to the nearest support you can grab and fuck em up, they should die within 2crits(if you do land crits) then b-line to the nearest core. Thing here is, they won't be trying to kill you first for 2 reasons: 1. You revive, 2. You have a free ravage if you die. You will almost always be the last target as long as you don't initiate fights. So the chances of you actually dying are small. Remember to use those skeletons first before your stun so the skeletons actually hit who you just bloodthorned.
Don't mess that up, always E first then Q then bloodthorn. Your skeletons might as well be any other creep if you don't properly control them and they're a big chunk of DPS if they don't hit the right target.Final Words:, as you can see I rarely get to the point of actually getting the bloodthorn since this build just breaks your enemies so hard that games just end fast. Look at my older games, my recent games I've been using different builds since yet again this is just a meme build.What would be a great hero to try next? Thanks for pointing it out. Max Mortal is actually the build now typically on Wraith King, since his stun is so efficient level 1 and you want the skeleton army to lay waste to towers.I think if I see a Wraith King running at me with MoM, SNY and BOTs I just.kill him twice, though. The -8 armor actually makes you incredibly squishy for a big guy and the BOTs means you will probably be away from your team a lot.Remember that as a hero with critical strike, Wraith King benefits from both attack speed and damage, and having two lives makes survivability twice as good on him, so smaller items like Armlet or Echo Sabre really help him out a lot. Mom on wk is just plain bad.
Wraith King Build Dota 2 Mods
I understand that as a wk you want attack speed, move speed, and damage, but brown boots into madness is a very inefficient way of getting those as this herofirst off, madness is a 2000 gold item that only gives you life steal (which wk already has) and a mediocre amount of attack speed and damage. The active is also pretty bad for a wk getting hit by enemies, since it takes away more armor than a desolatorI think Aquila into treads as a safelane wk is strictly better than brown boots into madness, which is significant because Aquila and treads actually costs less gold. Treads and Aquila give you a lot of attack speed, damage, and other stats, tanks up your skeletons making you a very good pusher, and gives you the ability to tread switch (which is very useful on a lot intelligence strength core like wk).sure, you don't get an active that makes you go berserk, but what you do get is a lot of good stats and efficiency that will always pay off in the long run. There are other things to be said about the usefulness of blink and armlet vs.
Travels and sny, but I think that specifically brown boots into madness is basically bad on any hero. I'm not really a fan. Mask of Madness could work, but you'd want to take the movement slow talent at 10 so that you can land more hits, you already have a ridiculous attack speed with the Mask.Travels that early on is also very questionable, it doesn't achieve anything you can't do with a regular TP in terms of pushing lanes out, and getting Treads would actually give you much more DPS since that's what your build is about. Plus you won't run out of mana if you Tread Swap every time you cast Skeletons and Stun.You've already spent 4000 gold on both Boots of Travel and Mask of Madness, and it doesn't make you very effective in fights.
For that price you could have Treads + Armlet completed, which would give you much more DPS early and mid game. You get 56 damage when you use it, which is ridiculous for a 2k gold item, and you have the lifesteal to sustain it. Even better if you're going Mask of Madness though.SNY can work, MKB/Bloodthorn can work too, so can AC and Mjollnir. You would probably need a BKB every game if you're planning on beating the shit out of people, otherwise they can stop you with slows and stuns. You said that it doesn't matter cause you have a free Aegis, but that doesn't mean they can't stun you after you spawn too.
You didn't mention Blink anywhere in the post either, but you did mention Shadow Blade, so you can interchange those.Maxing crit has always been the go-to build ever since the skeleton army came, you only max stun if you're playing against a solo offlane, and the stun DPS will help you in fights. Going 1-1-3-1 is fine, and if you did get Treads and maybe a Wand then you would have enough mana to continuously use Q, so max that out next. Your damage is so piddly early on that maxing lifesteal does nothing.Late game seems fine though.

This build was built on my refusal to use blink dagger at the time because it made him not that Q king anymore, so MS items it was.Nothing you said is wrong btw, they all make complete sense, that's why this is just a guide and not 'the only way to play wk'. What said isn't wrong, again read the last bit of the post.If you are going for the radiance build it is almost always rushed, the only reason you get armlet before that is because it's just too good to not have. If you had an innate farming ability from the get-go like say alchemist you could just straight up rush radiance but reality is WK doesn't or at least not anymore.Before the changes to mortal strike Crystalys was the go-to farming tool for wk thanks to the insta-kill creeps mechanic and infinite skeletons split farming/pushing.Reasons why you rush the radiance is after a point the radiance burn damage gets really insignificant in fights(which is the main reason why you get radiance to begin with).
Also another reason why I don't like going for the radiance build is in this bracket, you rarely go for teamfights early so if you do manage to get a radiance sub 20mins it's going to be useless and just going to be another farming tool half the time instead of being used to pressure fights.
